World Café Event hosted at UNAND February 6th 2019 in Padang / Indonesia
On Wednesday, February 6th 2019, the World Café event by INSPIRE Eramus+ Project was successfully held at the Seminar Room of E Building Universitas Andalas. This event was aimed to disseminate social entrepreneurship for college students in Padang City. With the total of over 100 participants, the World Café event was running well with a lot of enthusiasm. Exchange students were also joining the event, including 8 students from Malaysia and 4 students from Netherland.
The event started with the registration and photo session by the participants from 08.00 to 08.30 am. Then, it was opened officially by Vice Rector for planning, development and cooperations of Universitas Andalas, Dr. Ir. Endry Martius, M.Sc. The opening session was also attended by the Head of International Office and some lecturers.
There were several keynote speakers who led the sessions about the topic to the students. The first session was brought by Mr. Ma’ruf SE, Mbus, Mphil, DBA, who also introduced the purpose of the project, the duration and programs to be offered to the students. During the discussion session, two issues were raised. One about workshop and business plan competition as individual and other about whether one community which involves in the social entrepreneurship activity can be invited into the workshop.
It was followed by the session from Mr. Hafiz Rahman SE, MSBS, PhD who introduced the basic concept of Social Entrepreneurship. Question and Answer session was also added at the end to make the participants grasp more about the knowledge that had been shared.
After the short coffee break, Mr. Asmi Abbas, SE, MM, Mr. Mohamad Fany Alfarisi, SE, MSFin, PhD, continued to lead the discussion about social problems and business innovation. Last but not least, Mrs. Dr, Rahmi Fahmy, SE, MBA brought the participants to actively involved in a small exercise on how to start the social business by using canvas model. At the end of her session, participants were given opportunities to briefly present their business canvas and getting feedback both from the speaker and audiences.
