Quality water for everyone
Throughout the world, 1.6 billion people drink water contaminated with bacteria from feces. Other people spend a lot of money on buying water or boiling it. Nazava wants to kill two birds with one stone by offering high quality and affordable water filters. The filters use Dutch filtration technology and will separate the water of 99.999% of all bacteria so it becomes safe to drink without being boiled. Additionally, the materials are virgin and food contact safe to eliminate issues regarding BPA. Another benefit is that buying Nazava filters is three times cheaper than boiling water and even nine times cheaper as the water bought in supermarkets. In addition, the filters reduce greenhouse gas emissions and save the time needed to boil the water or going to the supermarket. Moreover, the company also relies on local resellers who get additional income of USD 50 per month on average and 66% of those resellers are women. Another benefit is that the filters store up to 16 liters of water and can purify up to 7,000 liters, meaning that one filter can be used for approximately three years. Until now, the project already providers more than 200,000 people with purified drinking water and there are 100 resellers. Additionally, the project saves USD 68 per year per household and in total, the project has accumulatively saved USD 4.8 million.
